Seven Point Mind Training: Practicing From The Heart

At Land of Joy Retreat Centre, UK: 26th – 30th September 2019

Seven Point Mind Training is the classic and inspiring Mahayana Buddhist Text written by the 11th Century Kadampa Master, Geshe Chekawa. Still totally relevant to modern busy life, this teaching contains easy-to-understand instructions on cultivating understanding of emptiness and activating compassion. It also presents very helpful slogans to guide bodhisattva action in daily life. This is a very practical series of “tried and true” advices and contemplations for transforming the life into pure dharma, where peace and kindness prevail.

Ton Len, the practice of giving and taking, the heart of this teaching, will be the focus of this experiential approach to the study of mind training.

A favorite with many comtemporary masters, there are many English versions available in print. We will use the translation found in the book: ‘Advice from a Spiritual Friend’, which is a commentary by Lama Yeshe’s guru, Geshe Rabten. It is one of the very first books published by Wisdom Publications and is recommended reading for the retreat

The retreat consisted of guided meditations on the topics, informal talks, discussions and chi gong for the mind and body.
